Global BioEnergie

The large-scale establishment of cheap chemical processes has allowed the transformation of isobutene into diverse fuels: gasoline, kerosene, diesel and ETBE.

These products have been used for decades because of their high energy density and the ease with which they can be handled and stored. These products are fungible in the petrochemical industry of today, unlike ethanol, which would require a complete change in infrastructure if its use were to be generalized.

Isobutene can also be used to produce elastomers suitable for exploitation in the tire industry, organic glass and various commodity chemicals.
